COVID -19 Vaccine Latest News In India

Serum Institute Of India a India's top ranked biotechnology company who manufacturing immuno-biological  drugs and including important vaccines like Tetanus Toxoid, Diphtheria, Measles,Mumps,Rubella and many more.The company sold immuno-biological drugs around the world.The biotech company has established the world class laboratories with high quality equipment and test facilities and also the production line.



India and also world's largest vaccine maker Serum Institute has tied up with AstraZeneca a British-Swedish pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical company partner with Oxford University to manufacture a Covid-19 vaccine for low and middle income countries.Serum Institute of India will conduct phase-3 trial in India for Covid-19 vaccine developed by Oxford-AstraZeneca. Before that serum institute sends a proposal to DCGI (DRUGS CONTROLLER GENERAL OF INDIA)

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) create a dedicated committee for check the proposal of Serum Institute Of India.The committee accepted the proposal and has given the green signal for conduct II/III trials in India for Corona Vaccine.The covid-19 vaccine made by Oxford already tested in Brazil, South Africa and also in the UK and many more countries.The trial sites are -
  • INCLEN Trust International in Haryana
  • KEM Hospital in Pune
  • Society for Health Allied Research and Education in Hyderabad
  • National Institute Of Epidemiology in Chennai
  • Christian Medical College in Vellore
And many more sites.It was not clear that when Serum Institute will start the trials but, they said this month before receiving the many approvals from many sources.The vaccine could be out end of the 2020 if all goes well manually.



Bharat Biotech International Limited is also developing a Covid-19 vaccine with USA based pharmaceutical company FluGen and University of Wisconsin -Madison. ICMR and National Institute Of Virology provided the virus strains to the Bharat Biotech for making an indigenous Covid-19 vaccine.The Vaccine name is COVAXIN. The company also gets approval from DCGI to conduct phase 1 and phase 2 trials on June 29.Bharat biotech testing his covaxin in a lab facility at Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh.Phase 1 and 2 trials site selected by Indian Council Of Medical Research.The located sites are -

  • Rothak
  • New Delhi
  • Patna
  • Belgaum
  • Nagpur
  • Gorakhpur
  • Kattankulathur
  • Hyderabaad
  • Arya Nagar
  • Kanpur and Goa.


In this race of corona vaccine a Ahmedabad based Indian Pharmaceutical Company Cadila Healthcare Limited is popularly known as Zydus Cadila.The company also develops an indigenous Covid-19 Vaccine that name ZyCov-D.This company also got the DCGI clearance for its vaccine.In the preclinical phase, they found that ZyCov-d has a strong immune response in multiple animal and the antibodies neutralize the wild type virus the virus.we could say that the vaccine in its positive way.  

The two indigenous vaccine COVAXIN and ZYCOV-D are still in phase I/II trials.
