Massive Explosion In Beirut, On Tuesday

Beirut is the largest city of Lebanon and also the capital city.Some sources say that Beirut is the oldest cities in the world.Beirut is situated on the Mediterranean coast of Lebanon.It's a very important place for Lebanese government also plays the central role.

On Tuesday, a massive explosion takes happen in the Beirut city. The explosion destroys the Beirut port almost. A massive destruction in the all time history of Lebanon. Immediately Army, police, ambulance, fire brigade also the other important agencies went to the explosion site and launch a rescue and evacuate, plan for the people who are badly injured at that time.

Lebanon's prime minister said a statement that around 3000 metric tons of Ammonium Nitrate were stored at a warehouse in the port.In this explosion, at least 130 -140 people were killed and 4000-5000 wounded in the explosion.Many people are missing.For this explosion many buildings, beach-hotels,homes ,balconies were destroyed.Even the cars are overturned in the streets and messed up with ruin from shattered building's windows and doors were blown out miles to mile away.1000 people are homeless and 300,000 people are displaced from their homes.

In 2014, A Russian cargo ship made an unexpected stop at the city's port of Beirut.The ship was carrying more over 3000 tons of ammonium nitrate.The Lebanese port officials found some kind of fault in the ship that's why the port authorities stopped its journey from the port.The Russian ship captain said that there was nothing wrong about the ship , the ship failed to pay the docking dues.The vessel's owner a Russian businessman run away from the situation because of legal reasons.

After that the port officials wrote letters to the court many times to how the material in the cargo ship would dispose?, but the court didn't give a proper solution in this matter.The customs authorities also send a proposal that the ammonium nitrate which is use of fertilizers and making of explosives too hand over to the Lebanese Army, but it didn't happen, the court failed to respond to those letters.That's why, the disposable material keep in the storehouse in port safely.But on Tuesday ,somehow it exploded.

Ammonium Nitrate is a white crystalline solid particle that consists of ions of ammonium and nitrate.It is used for making explosive and also fertilizers.It's a very cheap thing ,you can get it everywhere in the world.It is very safely to handle, but if we are storing it in a large amount it can be a big problem.Over the years the ammonium nitrate absorbs the wetness and other particle and finally turns into a rock.If fire reaches to this it generates a lot heat that can turn into a high intensity explosion because of the chain reaction.

Beirut explosion showed a mushroom kind of cloud, the shockwave produce from the explosion the air extends rapidly and cooled faster and condenses of water, which is cause for the cloud.After that the port area almost destroyed.

Many hospitals are full they could not give the treatment to the patients properly,in this case a Lebanese media also says that some nurses and 4-5 doctors killed in this explosion.The Beirut port handles 80% food supply of the country and they have less than one months of ration.In the past the country has facing of 15 year of civil war and the ongoing the economic crisis.The government failed in every way,that's the way Lebanese protester protest against the government in the first quarter of 2020. 

The Lebanese government called for global help.

President Donald Trump said that, The U.S is ready to assist Lebanon and U.S secretary of state Mike Pompeo told his"deepest condolences"

French President Emmanuel Macron also said in a tweet that they was sending aid.

PMO Narendra Modi said in a tweet "Shocked and saddened by the large explosion in Beirut city leading to loss of life and property.Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and the injured".

The Russian govt also send food supplies to the Lebanon.
